As of November 8, COVID-19 vaccine-related requirements for accessing USC’s campuses changed based on a new L.A. City Council ordinance  and an Executive Order from President Biden. These changes are in force at all campus perimeters for guests, visitors, etc., wishing to access any USC facility.

L.A. City Council Ordinance

The City of Los Angeles’s vaccine mandate for various indoor venues—including restaurants, food courts, coffee shops and gyms—takes effect on November 8, 2021. Since many locations at USC are subject to this new mandate, the university will begin enforcing it at its campus perimeters on that date.

As of November 8, all visitors to USC (including suppliers) must be prepared to show proof of vaccination or produce a negative COVID-19 test taken in the past 72 hours to enter campus. Visitors can either show a physical CDC-issued vaccine card or a digital copy (available from the State of California here). The mandate requires individuals to be fully vaccinated, meaning that two weeks must have passed since the second dose of a two-dose series, or a single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Regardless of whether individuals use  proof of vaccination or a recent test to access campus, they will also be asked to show a photo ID.

In addition to the new requirements detailed above, all visitors are still required to complete the TrojanCheck wellness check each day prior to accessing campus. TrojanCheck can be accessed online or via mobile devices.

Executive Order from President Biden

President Biden’s Executive Order requires employees of government contractors and subcontractors to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by December 8, 2021. Please review the order to ensure that all suppliers, their employees, and subcontractors who access USC’s facilities comply with this requirement.

Additionally, note that as the university establishes new contracts, or as current contracts are amended, a clause related to this Executive Order will be added if appropriate.

Thank you in advance for complying with these requirements to protect the health and safety of everyone within the USC community. For the most current information regarding USC’s policy for campus access, please visit the COVID-19 Vaccination Program policy page.
